Life as a House

George Monroe has been planning to take over the reigns directing his life ever since he was divorced from his wife. Now that he discovers that he is incurably sick and has only about a year left to live, everything seems different. In order to make a future possible for his troubled teenage-son Sam, he wants him for the summer to help him build the house he has been dreaming of. This gives Sam the possibility to let out his aggressive feelings by destroying the old house and getting inspiration by building the new one. And there is of course the beautiful daughter of the neighbors, Alyssa, who brightens up Sam's life. As time goes by, though, George begins to doubt his intentions of bringing the family together again when he knows he is about to die...
