Washington,
D.C. journalist Stephen Glass is a young, talented writer. He is not only good,
but also very creative, as this movie proves. As a staff writer at "The New
Republic" in the time between 1995-1998 he made 27 of his 41 published
shories up. Either partially or completely. The movie is adapted from a true
story, by the way. Stephen Glass wanted to be famous for his articles, but he
was unwilling to go through the troubles connected with becoming it. He searched
a short cut and he found it... He made up sources, quotes and even entire
stories. Initially this concept works, but sooner or later this deception is
noticed and Glass is thoroughly destroyed and left deorientated...
